During our Retreat Meeting 2023, ICIPS members and external guests got the chance to “go to Walhalla”: a cruise trip and a hicking excursion were organized to make sure that all ICIPS members could reach this famous monument, the German “Hall of Fame” on the banks of the Danube (near Regensburg).
While certain enjoyed this sunny cruise on the “blue” Danube … other were still working on the boat !!
But all of them reached the Walhalla !!
After all these intensive discussions and sessions during the days, we deserved some cold beers and bavarian foods during the evenings … as well as to enjoy the Regensburg Jazz festival.
Another difference compared to last year: two young principal investigator, Dr. Sophie de Vries from the University of Göttingen and Dr. Anja Schmidt from the University of Heidelberg were invited to present their researches in order to build future collaborations with ICIPS members.

This year, two external speakers, Dr. Beatriz Goncalves (Univ. of Bristol) & Prof. Ueli Grossniklaus (Univ. of Zürich) were invited to be part of the discussions.

Like, last year, our ICIPS PhD students and postdocs presented their new results to the whole research unit and we discussed them all together.
The next Report & Retreat meeting will take place during the week n°28 (from Thursday 13th to Saturday 15th of July) of 2023 in Regensburg !
