The group P1 is working on the DFG project :“400 million years of faith – how the transcriptional regulators LEUNIG and SEUSS co-evolved to become key regulators of reproductive development in Arabidopsis thaliana“ and is located at the institute of Botany of the Justus Liebig university in Giessen (Address: Heinrich-Buff-Ring 38, 35392 Giessen). They are part of the working group “Developmental Biology of Plants“.

In Becker´s group, researchers study the evolution of plant development (evodevo) and concentrate on the evolution of flowers. Further, they are interested in the molecular base of phenotypic plasticity.

We work with different organisms like Arabidopsis thaliana, Eschscholzia californica (basal eudicot), Trifolium pratense (legume) and even Physcomitrella patens (moss), using a multitude of molecular genetics tools and microscopy.
