All ICIPS PhD students took part to the BIOINFORMATICS Workshop from Wednesday 28th (midday) to Friday 30th (midday) of July at JLU University and learned from Oliver Rupp and his colleagues of the Department of “Bioinformatics & Systems Biology” a lot about R Studio and Data visualization.
An additional non-ICIPS PhD student from one ICIPS working group (Osnabruck University: Lara Canovai) participated to this interesting workshop too, as well as Master students from JLU university.
Oliver Rupp taught some basic functions of R Studio during the first afternoon (see above), while several packages were used during the next days to visualize classic data (library package: dplyr, tidyverse, readr, ggplot2; see below) as well as specific RNA Seq data (library package: gridExtra, pheatmap, RColorBrewer), which were generated during the Bioinformatics Workshop done the previous year (2022).
During the first Report & Retreat Meeting of the ICIPS research unit (FOR 5098) which took place in Villa Denis between Thursday 6th and Saturday 8th of October, it has been decided by all PhD students that :
- the second BIOINFORMATICS Workshop will be about Visualization Data using R Studio and organised again by the ICIPS-Z2-Group (Oliver Rupp) during year 2023 !
- the PhD students and postdoctoral researchers are going to communicate to Oliver Rupp the different R-packages that they need/want to learn for their different data analyses months before the future workshop !
