All ICIPS PhD students and postdoctoral researcher took part to the second SOFT SKILLS Workshop about “How to present science and to publish in high impact factor journals : Scientific Writing” on Wednesday 6th of September (theoretical part) in order to learn during the whole day (9am-5pm) :
– How to write a scientific paper;
– How to write an abstract;
– How to publish a paper in high-impact journal (p. ex., Nature, Science, Cell, …);
– The different keypoints of an oral presentation;
– How to create a poster,
from Dr. Michele Marass (an ex-Editor from Springer Nature Group and Spandidos Publications).

On the second day (Thursday 7th of September; pratical part), each student met Dr. Marass online individually in order to read together and to go through during half hour all the Dr. Marass´ review/comments made previously about the student´s abstract (written and sent the week before to the teacher). Dr. Michele Marass explained carefully and meticuously how the ICIPS members should modify/improve their text to convince Nature/Sciences/Cell/ … -editors to publish their paper. This personal and practical part has been greatly appreciated by all the participants.
Six additional non-ICIPS PhD students from JLU University participated to this interesting workshop too.
The future SOFT SKILLS Workshop will take place in online mode (virtual) during two full days (from 9am to 5pm) on Wednesday 6th (theoretical day) and Thursday 7th (practical day) of September.
This second SOFT SKILLS Workshop will be in English about Scientific Writing („How to Publish in High Impact Factor Journals“) and provided by Dr. Michele Marass.
